Caught in the open, whitetail buck
Posted By: Tom Lusk, 09-26-2006, 04:50 PM

I finally got an opportunity this afternoon to try my K100 on one of my favorite targets:

K100 with DA50-200 @ 200; ISO 200, f5.6@ 1/10th sec. handheld; cropped approx. 20%; slight USM (needs more?). Should have used higher ISO to get a faster shutter speed, but had no time to change my settings.

All critiques appreciated and welcome.

Great job! Illustrates the value of shake reduction! And no, I don't think that you should sharpen more.

Caught in the open

I'm with Ole, Tom. This shot sure shows the magic of the SR in the K100D. It is a great shot and No I wouldn't do any more to it except Print and frame it. Congrats on the capture.

Good Shooting.
cheers: David

I'd say that photo scores 8 points (on a scale of 0 to 8.... ~;^))

It is certainly a great catch Tom. Curious to know, is that camera or wind shake on the upper left branches?? Must be wind or movement since they don't show on the rest of the image.

Hi:

It's the result of strong winds, I guess. It has been blowing pretty strong here the last few days.

Very good shot, Tom! Congratulations!
I just make a warmer version if you don't mind... please, let me know, if you do!
original photo also seems a little too bright to me.. perhaps it's not too bright for you, on my monitor it is (and I use monitor, which is calibrated)... and I also cropped a little, I just find better composition that way...
Show us more! I love these targets!!
