the Dandy Lion
Lens: 50mm f/2.8 Camera: Kx Photo Location: Arizona

that's what we called them when I was a kid. There have been several great photos of dandelions over the last months, so I went out looking for an example to photograph. I did find this one which half the seeds had already blown away in the wind, but it was interesting to view and I took a few photos and this was the best of the batch.

Very similar to a jellyfish in some ways :-)

very nice b&w rendition
it's also interesting to see that your dandelions are a bit different than ours in the Eastern U.S. - the seeds look a little different.

Michael, this is the first I've seen like this, not sure what kind it is though. The rest of them looked like this.

A wonderful shot, Bob! I think everybody tries to get some good Dandelion shots, but rarely the result is so great.

But that macro is awesome!

I'm the opposite. Macros are easier for me than landscapes, which come out pretty blah for me most of the time. I'm learning, though.

I'm not exactly what kind of dandelion this is Jer, first I've ever seen but I was happy with the results of the photo. thanks buddy for the kind words.
