Sunset at Draper Lake
Lens: Pentax DA 15mm/4 Limited Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Near Norman, Oklahoma
Posted By: Susinok, 05-18-2014, 07:54 AM

I took 176 photos last night of the sunset on Draper Lake a few miles north of where I live. It was a very nice and quiet evening. I first set up shop near a little inlet in the weeds. Then I thought I was done and drove off but found a more open area and the sun still had some setting to do, so I took the final sunset picture in that area. Now I know where to go when the sky is really putting on a show. Last night it was a bit subdued.

Second area, some Canada geese came in for a landing.

And the grand finale:

Thank you! Landscapes are difficult for me. By the time of actual sunset, most of tje clouds had cleared away and it was less interesting.

lovely landscapes, I especially like how you included the ground/trees and area.

Thanks, guys! I used my tripod on these. I like to include a lot of foreground and vegetation if it is around.

These are all nice - I can't get enough sunsets, and I like the crisp look of these.

These are incredible! Did you give any thought in trying an HDR shot?

Thank you!

No, I haven't even begun to think of HDR, plus for the most part I don't like the look.
