Getting Close
Lens: Pentax 50mm f4 Macro Camera: K5 Photo Location: Mitchell Co. Ga.

Dragonflies will perch very still for several minutes at a time. I wanted to see how close it would let me get, so I put my 50mm f4 onto a 36mm tube, which at min. focus gives me less than 3 inches working distance. With the 50 f4's recessed front glass, this put the dragonfly's head almost inside my ring flash. This little gal just sit there and let me click away. Got a couple of keepers.
