First 600mm lens shots
Posted By: ToXiQ, 01-26-2007, 07:13 AM

Used the 600mm lens today and it handles great!

I was after a a kingfisher for a long time and know 2 but I can not get everywhere they are hiding.

Every friday I have 2 hours to spend at the same place and have seen there more times 1 or 2 kingfisher birds. Maybe I do not look good and must look closer because I see them many times flying there.

Hey THIS was my day. I had the 600mm and what did I saw! A Kingfish bird!!!!

I know this can e MUCH better but I shot half through the car window.

Also shot this robin:

This is a magnificent lens

regards Walter

you are right! But when I use the frame script it copies the photo

Exif Kingfisher:

600mm, f/5.6 1/30 sec., ISO: 200

Exif for the robin:

600mm, f/5.6 1/50 sec., ISO: 200

The clarity and detail on the robin is excellent as well as the composition and bokeh. I like the kingfisher but am disturbed by the 'fog' at the lower half of the photo. Can you tell me what caused this fog?

Hello Clarenceclose,

The fog in the lower part from the kingfisher photo is a part from the not completly open car window. When I noticed the Kingfisher I had to take shots before it disapered! And after 4 shots it was away!

Wow, Walter. The king fisher is amazing. That rich colour through a thick layer of dense foggy hair to reach your lens... Lucky you!

That is a hell of a bird always in hiding as well. Lovely that you caught the bird in sight.

Your robin has that rich colour as well, typical of A* lens

JEALOUS!!!

Yea Walter! glad you got your kingfisher. Now that you've broken the "bad luck" go back and get him again! This time w/o the car window! Love your robin shot too. If you ever get bored with your lens, let me know.

NaCl(well, if it doesn't work with Adam, it might with Walter )H2O
