Macro Moth

My latest victim. I generally catch them in a quart jar and let them cool down & slow down in the fridge a few hours before taking their picture.
As usual, taken with 2 socks on the flash. Asahi Pentax extension tubes. Taken in sunlight on porch board.

Good detail but be wary of blowouts from the flash.

yep, thanks for the advice. I noticed that. I think it was the sunshine though. Here's one in the shade with the flash
