IR effect on K10D
Posted By: Ash, 04-29-2008, 04:53 PM

At a serene cemetery called the Garden of Rememberance in town, I wanted to try out the K10D's IR capability, knowing its sensor is much less sensitive to infrared. This is what I came up with...

From this:

to this:

A little tougher with the K10D compared with the K100D, especially when the K10D cannot meter for IR shots at all, but works OK when the exposure is right (usually takes a 20-25 sec exposure at f/5.6-7.1).
Some PP in PS with adjusting the tint and exposure (Camera Raw just doesn't know what to do with IR shots...).
C&C is welcome as I'm looking to improve the look of my IR shots.
Thanks.

Looks good Ash, although I prefer the colour version

It's a lovely scene

Thanks Stu,

It's a tricky exercise getting IR right - I guess I agree with you looking at them again...
