Some old nature files I found
Posted By: wildman, 05-23-2014, 04:21 PM

Taken years ago with the old DL in jpg.
Just thought there might be some interest in them. No particular theme just random pics.
These were all taken on my old place when we lived on 62 acres of prime hardwood forest surrounded by thousands of acres of national wildlife preserve.
Truly the good old days for us.

Really good and that last one of the fawn in the sun dappled glade is exceptional. I'd display that one on my wall.

I agree with the other posters about this being a very good series.

Great set: +1, especially, on the last one...kind of unusual to see a fawn in a mature stand of hardwoods here in my part of the world.

Thanks folks glad you like the stuff.

BTW we sold the land at below market price to the state with the agreement that it would be protected as a natural area forever. No one could have paid the price that it was "worth" to us anyway.

Another fawn shot and a White Oak that the state forester thought was at least 400 years old...

Wow, that is a stunning white oak, say seven or eight feet diameter-breast-height? (I spend an unconscionable amount of time in the old-growth areas of the Smoky Mountains, but danged if I've figured out a way of taking a good picture of one of our giants.)

I love the first three shots. In the second one I'm guessing that you were lucky to catch the Chipmunk - it looks like it was about to disappear at the slightest hint of trouble. I love the bokeh in the deer shot, and the Raccoon reminds me of the only time I saw one; at Yosemite.
