Nat geo moment! Tarantula Hawk doing work!
Lens: Pentax 100mm Macro Camera: Pentax K-X Photo Location: San Diego, CA ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F4.5

On our hike today, caught this Tarantula Hawk after it paralyzed this tarantula. After the epic photo session, it dragged the tarantula into a hole. She will then lay an egg inside the tarantula and the larva will hatch and eat the tarantula! Was pretty cool to capture the moment with the new Pentax 100mm Macro. We got quite a few pictures, but I just had to pick out two quick to show you all. What do you think?

The 1st one is great. Good angle, reasonable depth of field on both bugs, nice shadows. Everything that the 2nd photo does, the 1st photo does better IMO.

Neat shots! Well taken and you were fortunate to be present and ready! Never underestimate the power of a woman wanting to feed her babies!

Regards!

Yes I agree.. I'll try to add more pics tomorrow on this same thread. There are some other neat pics to be seen.
