...I'm gonna' buy me a Mockingbird! Not really! But I did gain a new family that moved in the Woods of Otis last week, a family of Mockingbirds. They sing all day and sometimes all night too.

Ordinary and plain looking, but can mimic hundreds of other birds, as well as machinery, alarms, doorbells etc. Once they get started, they can carry on for hours.

Got this off Youtube...a good example of how he sounded the other night outside my window...for over an hour...three times...they must like it here!

Best Regards!

Thanks for sharing!
That's one of the things I really miss up here in Chicago, no Mockingbirds. We had them nesting in the yard in Cincinnati, and I'd leave the windows open overnight. They'd taunt the cats and I know one person whose resident mockingbird would mimic her telephone, causing her all sorts of frustration while on her deck. The bird would make the sound, and watch her get up.

Mockingbirds are fun birds and love to taunt other animals..cats, birds, or people! Fun to watch, fun to hear!
