Nicely done ... especially with the kit lens as well.
Was a CP used to keep the sky nice and blue????

I'd love to return to England again ... I remember as a kid when i travelled around with my parents there was some beautiful countryside ... and all of the castles were great to see and experience.

Nice series Steve. They are good but here are some comments for what they are worth. I wonder if it may have been possible to change the angle/perspective in 1 to make more of the lines of the lamps/shadows. The sky is nicely exposed. I'd have been tempted to go in a bit closer with the castle to give the structure greater presence/impact. Nice one of the church. The vertical lines of the building are tilting back a bit due to the upward pointing camera. Sometimes no easy way around this, but some more experienced than I am can do things to correct this with PP. I think the B/W conversion/grain of 4 works really well.

Thanks for the comments Simon. I don't own a CP at the moment (last one got trashed) that was straight out of the camera. I was amazed at the depth of that blue sky. I switched to Pentax at the end of last year from Canon and haven't looked back, I'd never have got that sky with the 350D.

Paul the market picture was cropped to get rid of too much foreground I have loads more from this shoot both closer and wider but I liked this shot best once I got the crop right. I can see what you mean with the castle shot. I kind of like the converging verticals in the church shot they lead you eyes more in my opinion. The shop is my fave. In the original the window frames are a very bright red.

Geeze, I love these Skiddy. I've only been to England (London) once and your images really make me want to come back.

Steve ... goos to see you have actually enjoy the Pentax over the Canon ... not many people actually admit that the Pentax to have been better than the Canon.

You have done well to retain a lot of the blue in the sky without a CP. And with the kit lens too.

Nice series, Steve!

I like the Black & White Grocery Shop very much - it has the wonderful old newspaper style!

In the first one the high contrast takes away a little from the interesting centre part, which is now rather dark..

Damn Brit

Loved number 4, the woman in the right hand corner looks such a character. Would love to see it in sepia.
