Ok, this is great gear porn but do you have some picture of how it performs with 36mpx and full frame? Thanks for showing the beauty.

Thanks guys , It may take some time for me to compile a few diferrent images together and post them up , would it pay for me to set up a sharpness chart on a wall and take a few shots at diferent apertures?

Hopefully Pentax FF isn't too far away , DA*55 simply shines on a 36 Mpixel Fullframe sensor
, the only drawback it has is not having AF and without an aperture ring its hard to tell what aperture youre taking the shot at , its easy to tell when you're at extreme ends Min and Max Aperture of DA*55 but ofcourse not many shoot all their shots at F1.4 or F22.

I subscribed to this thread without commenting Reason is that I remember this lens being tested on film cameras and its image circle is adequate.
And yes, I wish Pentax would bring aperture ring back to its lenses. At least for the primes.

Those test photos look really great. Could you maybe upload a full sized one with exif data? Maybe to one of those websites that allow file sharing

Sure , I've Just signed up for Dropbox , I will upload a few Full Size Jpeg images and link them to this page , my 1st Impression with DA*55 on a FF Sensor has been really positive , The only problem I will have would be incomplete Exif Data there will be no aperture settings. I thought I would try using my K-5 and A-50 on Shutter Priority to get the aperture information that way with matching ISO on the 2 cameras. Might work and I can Manually Document it all.

Personally, I prefer this one tandem

ILCE-7r + FA*85/1.4

Nice Boderzire , but there is already a "Gear Porn" Thread on this Forum for this type of X-rated images , but if you must I'll throw another one in here.

I may be in the minority, but to my eye a number of the test shots look soft...some out of focus... for the most part. This is not meant to be offensive, I'm just reporting what I see looking at the pictures provided.

I don't know what F stop was used....but I would be interested in seeing some shots at F 8.

Non Taken, Les I appreciate the feedback.

The way the Adaptor is designed there is no aperture markings on the Aperture Ring , it's hard to know what aperture your shooting at when you Turn the Ring to stop down unless the actual lens itself has an aperture ring. ;-) I took most of these wideopen or close to Wideopen. Unless I mark the aperture ring I'm hard pressed to know what aperture exactly? Do you have any suggestions ?? or should I just take some random shots Stopped Down, can anyone suggest a Method ? perhaps.
