Nature Blue Heron in Flight

Being from the Mojave Desert I don't see many large birds, in fact the raven is about the largest we have. We were down at Fountain Creek and I caught this heron taking off and flying across the small lake at the park, quite a thrill for me to get some photos.

Bob, at the fourth photo in the heron manifested something ancient, something of a pterodactyl style.

I would be pleased to be able to get photos like that. I've whiffed on my attempts to get a Heron in flight.

I was happy with the photos considering the quick shoot and this is the first time I've seen one in person so I was very happy.
