Exact name unknown, but it's some sort of Rose.

That is Rosa Mundi! It is a Gallica rose that originated in around the 1200s and named after Henry II's mistress. I have it in my garden as well. It's very distinctive.

And that shot is amazing!

I had no idea what it was, apart from being a Rose of some sort.

While you've been away or off reservation (away from the forum), I purchased a new lady... "Femme Fatale" (SMC Pentax-A 50mm F2.8 Macro) and it would just be rude not to take her out on a few dates.

Susinok (here on the forum) was kind enough to identify it for me, as a Rosa Mundi! It is a Gallica rose that originated in around the 1200s and named after Henry II's mistress.
