Rogers Pass

Here is Rogers Pass - from Wikipedia :

Rogers Pass (elevation 1,330 m or 4,360 ft) is a high mountain pass through the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia used by the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Trans-Canada Highway. The pass is a shortcut across the "Big Bend" of the Columbia River from Revelstoke on the west to Donald, near Golden, on the east. The pass was discovered on May 29, 1881, by Major Albert Bowman Rogers, a surveyor working for the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Had not used the Sigma 17-70 (first gen) in quite a while. Still holds up very well IMHO.

Great shot Davey. Here is a view of one of the mountains on the right side of your photo taken in April. Cheers. PS: how did you make out at the baseball tournament? JIM

I've been out in Rogers pass a number of times. My kids and I would hike up in Yoho, up from the Kicking Horse Falls camp ground then up into Yoho for 4 or 5 days. We'd come out, drive to Rodgers pass and stay in the great Western. We'd go for the $10 all you can eat buffet, and since we'd existed on backpacking rations for darn near a week, the manager would be on the verge of asking us to leave by the time we were finished. IN the morning we'd head over tot he model train display in the Visitors Center, then drive to some friends that live over in the mountains east of Lillooet. It's been 15 years since I did it last. I've also been up to the Illecillewaet Glacier a few times, and stayed in the camp ground. It's just an amazing place to be.. thanks for the photos, I think I see the visitors centre down the raod there.

I keep trying to get Tess to go out for one last trip, but with all our dogs, we'd have to win the lottery.
