Aye and this is handheld, moving the whole camera backwards and forward to attain focus, maybe I should use a tripod and see what results I can really get with my "Femme Fatale".

I tried using a tripod for outdoor macro - wind - even imperceptible - becomes a major frustration.

Aye but that's the same for hand held too, I've found a large pop up diffuser/reflector makes for a fine wind break.

Thanks, I'm a bit new to this macro malarky and I just bought this lens on a whim.

Hence I don't have any of this fancy focus rails/aids stuff and to be honest for the amount I plan to use this lens I probably wont bother.

But it's fun to play around in different genres of photography every now and again.
