I'd say close, weather conditions and the moons hight in the sky were roughly the same. Should you upgrade, I will say I only upgraded from the K5 due to circumstance I had to give the K5 back. I had no plan to upgrade until then as I loved the K5. Photos I can't share because of IP rules, the K5 has taken many shoots in the marine environment, covered in the red dust of the construction sites up in the North West of Australia and never missed a beat and always got great results.
But in the last couple of weeks with the K3, I'd say go for it and I'm glad I was sort of forced into it, what I thought was great with the K5, the K3 beats.
Of coarse if you wanted a short answer, yes go get a K3, its worth it.
