Evidence of Steam Travel

Yesterday we stopped in to see Heritage place in Huntsville Ontario, on a shopping trip. It was good enough to warrant togo back just ride a steam powered train, The Portage Flyer, for a half Km and tie in the Pioneer Village, we were too late for both yesterday. We finished off with dinner overlooking the water near the old (no longer operational) lift bridge. I've got way too many picture to post, but I'll post the link to the slide show. I'll repost when I have ics of the trains in operation.

At first it was just a convenient place to walk the dogs...

And then I walked up to the nearby local lookout.

Then down to the old train station and drive shed....

Then dinner on the water....

And of course, the prerequisite moose on the way home.

The link to all 43 images..... <click here>

Hi Norm, good images of a place that I haven't seen since 1971. It HAS changed a bit.

Wonderful day good shots of the area Norm looks very pleasant. Moose pretty common in your area I usually spot them when I don't have a camera (and they are being chased by a bear while an eagle swoops down below and grabs a prairie dog with it's talons) ...all withing the 95% view finder range ha!

I don't think I ever got to Huntsville before 82, so you beat me by 10 years.
