Play Ball - it is that time again :)
Posted By: vievetrick, 05-06-2008, 05:41 AM

My son started playing his third year in the local Little League. This year it is the pitching machine league and ball, strikes and outs all count. Here are a couple from last night. Shot with the *istds as the K10 has an issue (stay tuned). The DS is so tiny with the Sigma 70-200 attached with no grip Comments welcomed or just enjoy.

My son was very excited about playing catcher, turns out it was a little harder then he thought it would be .

I know it has no ball in it but I like his form in the swing

This boy has this determined look on face for every pitch.

One of the funny shots of the night. I am a little rusty on my timing but this is just to funny.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys. I have to print that one out and give it to his mom and dad. I get a giggle everytime I look at it. No lie I have three or four shots with that same face

These are great!! My 8 year old twins are playing baseball, machine pitch, and it's a lot of fun. I park myself on the top of the dugout to shoot as the entire field is lined with high chain link fencing. So far I've only gotten one shot I thought was any good and that was of one of the twins unnecessarily sliding into home, totally missing the plate.

Their uniforms are just a boring light blue though. I love the orange. They really make the images pop.

I am now inspired to post some of the shots I've been taking of my older boys' soccer games.
Thanks for posting these. The action is really tough to capture.

Thanks for the responses. I was away a few days and just saw your comments. It is fun and can't wait for the K10 to be back. I had better timing with the K10 then I do with the DS. Last year had lots of ball on bat shots. I tried this year and as I mentioned a little rust or just so used to the K10 response time that I am off. The K10 is in the shop and soon as it is back I will post more.

Mel look forward to your shots.
Tim - for sure that is half the fun
georg - that is my boy, to bad he was out in front of the pitch by a foot

That is awesome! I was thinking scared to death myself. What a priceless capture. That is one that begs to be printed. I'm sure his parents would love it.

Heck, who knows, he may turn pro and be a hall of fame slugger and wouldn't a shot like this make a great momento of his early career.

Boy you were away awhile. Mine have since been posted and rolled to page 3!

But if you want to see them lets see if this "insert link" thingy works. Try this.

Can't wait to see more. We had rainouts this weekend. Baseball is hard to shoot.
