A true bird story
Lens: Bigma Camera: K3 ISO: 1600
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 07-11-2014, 09:08 PM

There were Tree Swallows living in a nice house,

but a pair of Mountain Blue Birds though that it should be their house, so they went and tried to convince the Tree Swallows to leave

You talk to them

For the last time......

Please....?

Did they finally leave?

All's good with the world

Now, I don't know what happened before this, for all I know it might have been the Blue Birds box to start with and the Tree Swallows took it over...who knows. The thing was that most Blue birds were feeding young ones already and the Tree swallows were just mating...but that is for another post..

Comments are always welcome and appreciated.

A nice series. It is interesting to watch these little struggles play out in the wild. There is a lot of pushing and shoving and standing your ground in nature.

Hi Bob and thank you. That is the nice thing when you have all day and no one is waiting, you can stay as long as you want.

Take care everyone ,

Almost every Bluebird box I have ever seen has Tree Swallows or House Sparrows in them. I've Ben told that of you put the boxes close enough together the swallows in one box will chase away other swallows and the bluebirds can nest in the other box.

I didn't really count them but along this short stretch of road there are probably 10 to 15 boxes and they are occupied about 50/50 by Mountain Bluebirds and Tree Swallows.
