Cactus Patterns
Lens: Sigma 17-70 mm Contemporary Camera: K30 Photo Location: Home garden ISO: 1600 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F11
Posted By: crabby, 07-13-2014, 11:16 PM

Thought this cactus made an interesting pattern shot to try out the macro capabilities of my new Sigma 17-70 contemporary lens. The flesh of the cactus was quite flat so I applied the K30's pastel digital filter to the final image which I think helped give it a lift.

Thanks Charlie, I agree - I find them a lot of fun, and you are right, - in some instances they can really enhance an image without going overboard.

Wonderfully done. I feel very inspired as my wife has many succulents cactus plants and I believe they would photograph very well.

Thank you TT for your comments. They certainly do make an interesting subject to photograph. It is great to hear that your work can encourage others to get out their and have a go themselves. It is the great thing about this forum. I was inspired by the work of eaglem.
