We went to Nahant Beach yesterday -North Shore outside of Boston. When I looked closely at the original shot the really cropped one took on the appearance of an oil painting from the heat rising along with the heavy cropping. The houses were about a mile and 1/2 away.--charliezap

Really love the feel of the image Charlie, The cropped image was well spotted, and like the way you used the family walking on the beach in the foreground.
PS. I see you have used the DA 55-300 mm lens in a number of photos, I am contemplating purchasing one. You obviously like it?

Thanks Craig. The DA 55-300 is a decent piece and easy to handle. If I get real ambitious I drag out the Bigma (50-500mm) along with the tripod.--charliezap
