You know, I'm starting to think that f8 is really the sweet spot for this lens--while the rose itself is done wonderfully, of course, it's that dark, brocaded tapestry of the buds at one and eight o'clock, plus the splash of light in the upper right, that really makes me happy.

Aye that's about where I tend to use it, unless I need to increase dof then F22 it is.

Judging from the EXIF data on these two shots, y'all must be having the sunniest summer since the Picts showed up, but it seems your femme du jour is up to the challenge. (Though no doubt like any woman "d'un certain age," she needs a little help in post.)
