Nature Tomato Hornworm

My wife found this happily munching on our tomato plant. We recycled it into the food chain. Let's just say "It sleeps with the fishes".

I have five very large, healthy tomato plants that I'm anxiously waiting to provide me with some mayonaise and tomato sandwiches, but in the meantime, I've been watching for Mr. Manduca quinquemanculata (that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it!) to come around so I can try my hand with my new macro extension tubes. Luckily, I haven't seen any yet. They are such vile looking things!
