There is a story behind this photograph. My daughter had leukemia when she was 5 years old and was given only a 40% chance of living, but thanks to the miracle workers at Stanford Children's Hospital, she survived. They told us that due to the massive doses of radiation and chemotherapy she endured, she would never be able to bear children. She proved them wrong and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, my granddaughter, Kelsey, who is now 19 years old. In the photograph is a picture of my granddaughter when she was an infant, but also in the photo is a lock of my daughter's hair. When she began losing her hair due to the radiation, instead of letting it gradually fall out in clumps, we decided to shave it off. I saved a lock of it and that's it in the picture with a red ribbon tied around it.

Great composition, but an even better story behind it.

Indeed, both an excellent composition and a remarkable story.
