To celebrate our anniversary my wife and I took a little waterfall day trip to Hamilton today. I just recently found out Hamilton is the waterfall capital of the world with apparently over 100 waterfalls in the area. Who knew? We didn't have time to see them all but stopped for a meal at Upper Mills falls in Ancaster. A beautifull spot where you can enjoy a meal sitting on the patio by the old mill falls. Sort of like Frank Lloyd Wright's FallingWater with a patio.
Later in the day we stopped to take a look at Tiffany Falls (image three) - a ribbon falls of some 21 meters in height. There wasn't a lot of flow on this late summer's day but it must be a torrent in the spring. I'll have to check out the other 100 or so waterfalls as time allows. It seems there are more falls than Niagara in this area.
