You just proved spring is coming your way. These macro shots are splendid and well taken. So colourful and vibrant.

Nice shots Bud. You can deal with most of the aphids by just hosing them off with water. The good guys will be along soon to start eating the rest. Look out for soldier beatles, half inch long with grey wings and orange body and head, they really munch through the aphids.

Nice captures Bud. I noticed aphids on our African Violets inside the house last week so I went outside and found some lady bugs under the old vegetation and brought them inside. A few days later I found one of them on the plants and took that picture.

Take care,

Bud... My girls love the butterfly shots. And I appreciate the aphid shot... They are tough to shoot.
My best year ever for Ladybugs and LB Larva, and boy they can plow thru an aphid infested rosebush in a few days. Leaving it virtually aphid free... Very impressive.

But I learned something today that I thought I would share with you... Aphids actually clone themselves. The female is born with offspring already growing inside her... How cool is nature?

Aphids... So that's what those are? I took a big macros series of some of those last fall w/my VL125mm that I never post-processed and shared. I thought they were mites of some sort; tiny buggers they are!

Impressive shots Bud! Wow those butterflies sure pop off the page don't they? The aphids is an intriguing image too. Beautiful work all the way around. I love being able to view your photos at this time of year. You are in your element now aren't ya Bud? I bet you'll see the fruits of your labors with the butterfly garden more each year. And I'm going to have a grand time watching!
