Magnificent photo! It's simplicity and composition are masterful. Perhaps in need of a little more contrast, (IMHO) but nonetheless, very good.

Where was this taken?

If it was for me, I am in the upper left hand quarter of the United States. Mountainous country, mostly.... with the high desert country due south a few miles.
