50 is still a great distance
Posted By: robyct96, 08-28-2014, 01:10 PM

50 was "the lens" for decades: the view angle similar to the human eye, the possibility to have great apertures, portability and more.
With the crop factor of 1.5 it becomes a 75...I still think that it remains a great lens adding to the other qualities the possibility to indulge more on details and little objects that makes the photos actual and introspective.
You have also the perfect lens for portraits, and, special for me, very fast in reportage.
What else? The special "colour" of Pentax lenses obviously!!!
The attached shot was done at 55mm (the image is not cutted or reshaped): capture the moment is my preferred way, and a 50 FA 1.8 will helps very much.

Cheers

I think I would be a nervous wreck until I got this file written on 15 different devices--even the precipice in the background is perfect.

When man creates a longer lens, God will create a more distant subject.
