Here are a few glimpses of some common "critters" from the home park. It's been a VERY BUSY late summer, with only a few opportunities to sneak up on the park animals. But this Chipmunk didn't take much sneaking - he chose a retaining wall at a campsite for his "perch."




This young spike buck had a great summer watching the park visitors stroll by...






As did these twins...




But this Eastern Box Turtle needed to be rescued from the roadside before she became "flattened fauna!"




What a great way to spend a summer day, just soaking up some rays and reflecting on life as a Painted Turtle. No, we did NOT paint the turtle! This species is called painted turtle because of the bright red markings...
