Nova Scotia

Was back 'home' recently for a visit.

1. Cape d'Or, located on the shore of the Bay of Fundy. The name is from the early French explorers who saw what they thought was gold gleaming in the cliffs along the shore. The gold turned out to be copper.

2. Lunenburg, located on the western side of Mahone Bay. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

3. Many of the buildings in the town of Lunenburg are distinct in their paint/colour schemes.

4. Not far from Lunenburg is the town of Mahone Bay, famous for the three churches which sit side by side. (Anglican, Lutheran and United)

5. Blue Rocks is a small fishing village located outside of Lunenburg. The name is derived from the bluish colour of the rocky shore.

Great shots, thanks for sharing. Making me homesick, I grew up about 45 minutes from these spots, moved away 16 years ago, but get back, as much as I can. I always make an effort to get down to the South Shore.

Great shots of interesting places I've yet to visit always appeal to me, especially ones of "New Scotland".

Glad I could share a few images of home for you. I am from Bridgewater/Dayspring originally (many, many years ago) and try to get back down at least once or twice a year.

Glad you enjoyed the views. I, too, enjoy 'revisiting' places when I look at other people's photos from their trips.

You would really enjoy Cape Breton if you were to visit Nova Scotia. You'd swear you never left home.

Nova Scotia (as well as the other Atlantic Provinces) would be well worth a trip. I also have a 'bucket list' of places I would love to visit.

Regards

It's kind of like the 'go big or go home' theory applied to house decoration. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

There is an easy going,, laid back kind of approach and a genuine friendliness in Nova Scotia as well as the other maritime provinces. It's always nice to get back and enjoy life at a slower pace. Thanks for the view and the comment.
