Was also this military hardware down your way in your last few posts, to do with the recent NATO summit?

Yes, we had about 5 war ships, minesweepers etc in Cardiff Dock. I have no idea which nationality the top image is though!

If you Google the number on the bow does nothing come up?

I can't quite read it due to the res on the site, your original should be good to read.

Nice shots Gareth, I always appreciate a good shot of a fine sea going vessel. Spent a lot of time near a similar vessel to that Latvian mine hunter when I served on a US Avenger class minesweeper.

Great catch, especially HMS Duncan - Type 45 destroyer class. She is a fabulous ship with a lot of advanced technology. One of the first combat ships designs with full electric propulsion system.
I had the pleasure to be a little bit involved in the design of some components of the propulson system.
Thanks or sharing!

No worries and thanks for your write up. It's nice to know some of the history of what you photograph I'm intrigued to know more now!

Both catch are great! This topic is a great idea. Hope to give one of my shot of war vessel, but I live so far to sea!
