Pics from new Sigma 24-135mm (thanks dudlew!)
Posted By: sabarrett, 05-12-2008, 03:31 PM

Here are a few shots from the Sigma 24-135 I picked up last month. I really like this lens. We were up in Traverse City MI this past weekend and this was on the camera to try it out. The weekend was quite sunny but cold. Thus the shots are taken quite stopped down, but I think it made good samples of the capabilities. These were only cropped, no editing, sharpening, levels, etc. I just have not had a chance to play. I like the colors it gave and the full size shots are quite sharp (the reductions don't do it justice). The first two are of the Old Mission Lighthouse on Old Mission Peninsula and the 2nd two are of my 2 yr old.

Overall the range of this is what I was looking for. I am not getting rid of my 17-70, as that is nice for indoor shots during family events, but this was nice for being out doors and traveling. The extra length came in handy. It is heavy and large, but thats what you get for a wide aperture I guess.

Feel free to comment...

Scott

Thanks! It seemed that only one of the kids would cooperate at any given time this trip. If it wasn't the 2 yr old pouting, it was the 5 yr old! Man, tried our patience...
