Architecture and Frost

Here's a couple from today using the K100D w/DA 50-200 and DA 18-55. Froze my butt off, I thought my fingers were going to break off at one point :ugh: Anyway, here are my efforts, I'd love to hear what you think.

I like number 1 but somthing about number 2 is unusual. Not sure maybe the color of the sky. I like everything else about it.

Thanks Vievetrick Yeah, #2 does look a little unusual doesn't it? I think I should pull back on the PP a little. It's so hard to judge a picture after I've been working on it for a little while, it helps to get feedback here.

Both shots are well done.

The colour on the second shot does seem a bit off though. I think it's because the sky is too light for a dusk/dawn shot (which is what it looks like to me). I could be off though

My eyes are just aching to see more detail in the red clusters of number 1. What would happen if you pulled back the shadow/highlight just a touch there?

I like the compo on number 2 but agree it may be better a shade darker to really bring out that this is an evening shot.

Thank you Roentarre, Shadowrulz, Scott-devon, Andrew and Clarence!

Andrew, you're right I shot this just as the sun started to set. I'll have to try and rework it and see if I can come up with something better.

Clarence, this one's just for you! A before and after, though I still prefer the original because of the way the light falls on it. To my newbie eyes, they both look good, I guess it all comes down to personal taste

Before

After

You know...you are right, the first one comes across better. Thank you for showing me. I think something got lost in the ice on the second one that took away from the shot...but something got added to the vegetation.

Just for fun you might want to try putting this one over the top of the other one (hold down the shift key to get them exactly aligned) and play with your different blend modes. Just a thought.
