India in three weeks
Lens: 18-135 WR, DA40, FA77 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: India
Posted By: Klaquax, 09-28-2014, 05:22 AM

Last December I visited two friends who did a three months internship at MIT Manipal, for travelling around in India for three weeks...
It was the first time I left Europe and I took a backpack with me which was a around 20kg.
Three weeks is way too less time to explore this huge country but we tried to see as much (tourist traps ) as we could.

Our route was the following:
Manipal (Karnataka) - Goa - Mumbai - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi - Mammallapuram

It was not easy to decide what lenses to take with me,
finally I took the 18-135 WR, DA40 and FA77 with and left my Sigma 8-16 at home.

I took around 4000 photos, sounds like a lot but in India there is a possibility for a nice photo at every corner.
Around 3000 photos were shot with the 18-135, about 500 with each of the Limiteds.

Now I´ve chosen some of the best photos to post them here, if you like them I can add some more or you can visit my Flickr account where I will upload some more.

If you have questions about my trip, interested in something, comments, critique or something else feel free to answer!

I hope you enjoy watching...

Great series, some wonderful images. I visited India for two months and that was not long enough to see that much, this was in 1986-7, it does not look to have changed that much. Really like your train station shots and the buses, spent hours at these places. You shots do not show the really big crowds, you must have been early in the morning or late? Any way thanks for the visit/sharing.

I enhanced the colors in some of the pictures, but the light there is really kind of special.
The air pollution increases in the course of the day, but near the coast it is not that bad, that is the reason why I liked Mumbai a lot (chance to breath fresh air from the ocean).

Your right there are big crowds everywhere, the Mumbai-shots are taken at morning/evening and I did my best to avoid huge crowds in some photos...
