Kananaskis Country
Lens: DA 12-24 / DA* 60-250 Camera: K5 IIS Photo Location: Kananaskis, Alberta

For all the times we have gone up to the mountains we have never visited the Kananaskis area. We always head to Banff, Lake Louise and Yohoo Park. On Saturday we headed down there. I was going for some fall colors and managed a few but the weather was not very cooperative. Very low ceiling and clouds were thick with a few rain drops here and there. Now that I know a few spots here, we'll be back there hopefully with better weather.

#1 - A mountain peak trying to beark thorough the clouds

#2 - Lower Kananaskis Lake

#3 - Lower Kananaskis Lake

#4 - Just another mountain lake

#5 - We found a new road Spray Trail that goes from the Provincial Park into Canmore. About 60 kilometers. It's a dirt and gravel road took well over an hour to make that 60km (mind you we stopped along the way) but 60km or so would be the max. Would not want to try this road in the middle of winter but in fall it's a great drive.

A great set--I really like monochrome landscapes from your part of the world...the dark blacks in #2, especially.

Terrific B&W landscapes - I'm also a big fan of #2, but I dig 'em all.

nice reflections in the lakes that you captured. You know Dave, it already looks like it is cold there?

Wonderful images Dave, love the b/w conversions especially # 4. We must have been there only a few days apart from each other.
