Haven't used the old K 200/2.5 much of late. Rather dumb really as it is one of my favourite lenses.

A Cardinal dropped by while I was enjoying the afternoon sun today and got herself shot.

She must be molting as they normally look better than this. It might possibly be a juvenile bird as well.

Ornithologists or bird guys please chirp in.

I think you are correct now that I think about it. It would explain the mottled look.
