Fun with manual lenses
Posted By: ve2vfd, 05-14-2008, 01:40 PM

A few flower pics taken last weekend with my Takumar 135mm f2.8 (the bayonnet non SMC model)

Pics are all wide open.

This is the first time I really try this lense out, and I have to admit considering all the bad reviews I read on it, I was pleasantly surprised by it's performance!

Wow, nice and sharp!! Thanks for sharing. I have non-SMC 105mm f2.5 I wonder if I can get similar results.

Timbo ... Thanks! Of course I am not showing the dozens of poorly focused shots I threw away But still, the results of this lens were a pleasant surprise.

Aleonx ... Thanks! Well, there is only ONE way to find out what your 105 is capable of Give it a tryout and let us see what it can do!

The beauty of Pentax backward compatibility, your shots shows what can be done w/ almost 3 decades old lens, very nice shots and thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Rene

Charlie ... Thanks!

Heinrich ... Thank you! I have to admit the pics came out pretty good!

Sailor ... Thanks! #2 is also my favorite. Would you believe thats a wild flower? #1 is from my mothers gardenm #2 and #3 are wild flowers I saw while taking a walk in the forest.

Rene ... Thanks! I was thinking the same thing as I walked around the woods with my camera. What a paradox! A new camera and a 30 or so year old lens! And people wonder why we love our Pentax gear!?
