Well I was surfing Ebay , and I spied a reasonably priced Tele converter ..

@ Vivitar MC 75-205 F/3.5-4.5 2x Matched Multiplier ( To be exact ) ...

I liked the design of it , and thought , hmmmmm . Wonder if it will work with the Tamron SP 90mm BBAR ?

Problem with the Tamron being that bright little spot in the middle of the image ( reflection from Censor to back of lens ) ..

Still early day , but thought I would take it for a spin before going to the dentist for a filling ... ( Ouch ) About an hour and a half from now ...

Now I wanted to try photographing these nice shinny flies , but they are simply too fast .

What I noticed today , was all these spiders .. Wow , obviously waiting for a fly to get close enough to be made a meal of .

Last few days have been gale force wind conditions , and today is relatively calm in comparison .. So the spiders were out in force ..

And here is a normal fly for scale : Yes those are small flowers ...

I put my Tamron lens on sale just in regards of that blue spot but now I have to reconsider this since that converter helps with this. Can you please elaborate if the converter supports "A" setting (automatic aperture)? Thanks.

No to A ... sorry

I did buy a Pentax converter ( 2x ) that supports A , still waiting on that one ..
I need to test with more light and take the aperture right down as far as it will go , and see if the problem is solved ..

Thanks for letting me know... I hope that you will post the results whenever you will get the Pentax-A converter. Curious if the blue spot will be remedied.

My lens ( Tamron SP 90 BBAR ) has no A setting ..
But yes if I find a Tele converter that the SP 90 BBAR likes , I will make a post , if not update the Lens Review to such an effect ...

I guess it is older model than mine but should be optically identical. I have SP 90mm 2.5 (52BB) with A setting as long as I put PK-A adaptall-2 adapter... What I did not try it is with included original extension tube (1:2 - 1:1) if blue spot occurs but I like the idea with 2x converter just in regards of working distance.

Yes the work distance is excellent , plenty of magnification without the need for getting closer ..

The Fly picture shows me the potential :

Many thanks for this. I too have the Tamron 90mm and the blue spot which was rather a disappointment. I also acquired the Adaptall 2x convertor but never thought to put them together. No chance for an exhaustive test yet but a quick check shows the spot has gone. And the greater distance means the bugs are less likely to fly off.
Worth joining the forum for this alone.
