Fine day here today, used that as an excuse to have a quick run over to one of my favourite distilleries, big clue in the thread title.

Nice shot

but fix the trees on the right. There is some really obvious dodge/burning going on between the branches and creating a halo. Its such a nice shot, that its a shame to have that distraction.

This any better?

If not I'm in trouble... all that's happened here is highlights down and shadows up.

71 views and no ones named the distillery yet or even mentioned it.

Nice shot that brings back great memories.
My wife and I spent a awesome week on the Isle of Skye. It was really sweet. The only reason I can recall for not visiting the Talisker distillery was due to ongoing hangovers. We made so many gracious Scots friends that they kept insisting on refilling our glasses during our evening pub socials. Being a wimp imbiber, it took me awhile to recover. Also adding to the mix was the remarkable quality of the whisky. We always have a bottle on hand now because a wee taste brings back the smell and feeling of burning peat so vividly!

We live on a ferry-only island--even have a distillary--so there was a feeling of kinship and comfort. We hung out in Uig. We were totally surprised to discover what huge American football fans the pubgoers were. At that time the Seattle Seahawks were in the American Conference of the NFL and had a huge rivalry with the bad-boy Oakland Raiders. Two seconds after we walked into the pub, someone called out "where you from?" I said "Seattle" and in unison the pub responded "Raiders!!!." Then a glass of Talisker appeared in my hand and heaven on earth proceeded.

That's one of the best memories of my life.

I Like this picture a lot. Apart from the great composition, the colors look very natural and it's pleasingly sharp.
<y wife and I spent several days in Skye in the mid 1980's, before the bridge. We stayed in the Skeabost (is it still there?). It's on our short list of places to go back to someday.

We all like that here, especially when drams are involved.

I'd love to stand and gaze at this scene in the flesh, but your great pic sure "brings it home." Cool photo of a lovely place.
