A tour of Oregon (lots of pics in reply)
Posted By: hamidlmt, 05-15-2008, 06:07 PM

My wife is back east, visiting family. So, I decided to take 5 days, the dogs, the camper van and go on a tour of remote places of Oregon that I've never seen before. I've only lived here since I was 3, so it was about time!

All snapped with the K10D and various lenses. You can see the full gallery here, along with exif data... Hamid Shibata Bennett's photos- powered by SmugMug

These are all jpegs, straight from the camera... no post-processing...

It looks like you and the pups had a fun trip, and got some nice shots. You went to some really remote spots thats for sure. It is beautiful country. My wifes folks have a place near Lake Billy Chinook that we spend a lot of time at, so I am familiar with were you were traveling and I love spending time out there. Thanks for sharing the trip.

You have posted many beautiful country images. The hills look so majestic and your dogs really add life to the series of shots.

It really was a fun trip! Haven't done this in years... and, then it was just me and a tent.

I believe Cove Palisades is on Lake Billy Chinook... such a gorgeous drive in!

I wish I could have caught more of the country... just no place safe to stop for some amazing views... just had to soak it in and enjoy the ride.

That old barn was in the middle of nowhere, by the roadside... nothing else around, except for the broken down fence surrounding it.

You've been running around my backyard!

Except for Fort Rock, haven't been out that way yet.

Cove Palisades State Park is definitely on Lake Billy Chinook, if you go past the dam on the north you're on Lake Simtustus.

Nice pics!

I used to get out that way often, but had never been to these places. I had an uncle that lived in Redmond for years. We'd meet him there and then head out to go fishing... Diamond Lake, East Lake, Chickahominy Reservoir...

I saw some signs to Simtustus... I'll check it out one day.
