Temple of Heaven
Posted By: pop4, 05-16-2008, 09:10 AM

Here's the last of the photos from a recent trip up to Beijing; the previous two can be found here and here. This time, I'm at a big park area called the Temple of Heaven. As usual, the smog, haze and pollution meant that the skies were gray, gray and gray. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the comments. I sure fell in love with my Sigma 10-20mm during my trip; all but the flower photo was taken with that lens.

Very nice series. You definately had fewer people at the Temple than when I was there. All my shots are full of tourists!

Well captured. Its not easy with the grey skies and crowds, but you seem to have been able to avoid the crowds at least.
I tried to take a similar shot as your first one and could not get a 'people free' opportunity.

My method of trying to avoid other tourists was to get up and out early; the weather also tends to be a bit cooler and more comfortable then (during Spring/Summer time at least).

Of course it was a lot easier for me since I was traveling alone, which meant that I could take photos to my hearts content without anyone nagging away; I actually had to wait a few minutes for the coast to clear for the first shot.
