That's quite the walk way. Why was it built? It looks like it could have been a sidewalk.

This picture was taken from the lookout tower and shows about a half of the footbridge. It is 1050 meters long and leads over meadows and marshes across Narew National Park between villages Śliwno and Waniewo letting tourist to get closer to the nature. Sections without balustrade (as seen on my picture) are meant for animals to let them cross the footbridge. There are several places on the way where you have to cross the river, but there are no bridges there – you must use floating platforms dragged with chains or ropes from shore to shore. You can see them on this clip (not mine).

I'm glad you explained that... I thought initially it was the ultimate keep off the grass mechanism.

Cool! Reminds me of the Pochuck Boardwalk (a mile long) on the Appalachian Trail going through the state of New Jersey.
