Here's my best attempt just as the sun was setting here (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada).

Pentax K20D, SMC Pentax-K 300mm F4 @F8, 1/1000s, ISO 200, Haida PRO11 ND1000 filter.

Both very cool! That second is really interesting with the tree and clouds silhouetted...

When I took the shots with the Pentax K500, I thought the one I posted was ok until I compared it with the same shot using my Sony HX100V superzoom, handheld at 30X zoom. I actually braced my arm against my fencepost, but no tripod.
Here is the shot from the Sony. This camera never ceases to amaze me, especially when you factor in the zoom capability.

Jumpin horny toads! That would even be a keeper from my 8" scope with filter. Frame that baby.

Thanks! I'm pretty pleased with it too.
I actually had my 10" Meade LX200 GPS sitting right next to me but they are a bit difficult to align in the daytime.

Oh these are awesome guys! I didn't have an ND or tripod on me since I wasn't even expecting to see the Eclipse since the could didn't break until ten minutes before sunset. I was actually unaware that you could photograph sunspots with a standard dslr

Nice shots.

I managed a couple decent shots with a terrible set up. A DA 55-300, on a Vivitar 2x Macro Teleconverter, and to make up for the lack of a ND filter an 800nm IR filter... It somehow worked.
