So this is how they do it.
Lens: 55-300 Pentax Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma. ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F8

I always wondered how birds can scatter so fast.They can turn their head completely around-push off and twist and are flying full speed away in the blink of an eye. I was very lucky to capture this moment a millisecond before take off.This is a red bellied woodpecker.---charliezap

I saw this once before Charlie, in the Exorcist, nice shot btw, beautiful bird.

At times the red on these guys comes out too red. This picture is marginal in that respect.---charliezap
