I am still trying to make this picture work. I don't have it yet.
used a flash.

The big question is "what do you want the final output to look like?". I think you'll get it to work, it's an interesting subject setup. But without knowing how you want it to turn out, I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help with composition suggestions. What effect are you attempting to achieve?

Thanks. Yep to be honest, I cannot say that I have defined in my own mind what I am looking to make. That makes the attempts frustrating. :-)
I am looking for a low key, but fully exposed image, without blown hilights and blocked shadows, full depth of focus. The composition could be changed, but the skull should be the main subject and the fur and drum supporting elements.
