A Halloween night surprise for Northwestern North Carolina as the golds and reds of Doughton Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway Friday turned into a white wake-up call Saturday morning.

We got out of there just in time it seems. Those last two with the snow are gorgeous. Thanks for showing what we missed.

Thats a change, does the snow look ok on your monitor, looks like you need to up the exposure in PP (its normal for camera to underexpose snow)

Thanks Susan and Steve,
I couldn't get an image of the wind howling all night and the Park Rangers closed the Doughton Park section(first two images) of the Parkway this am. Enjoyed the images of your trip. Rob thanks for the tip as I did up the exposure, whites, and shadows while decreasing highlights and blacks to compensate. One detail that I failed to mention was this morning was extremely dark with 25-35 mph westerly winds. Sun usually can't get through the fog until later in the day even on bright sunny days. Thanks to all for your comments.
