oooh...you really are mastering the desert shots...those natural formations have the feel of ancient civilizations.....very cinematic

The red sandstone is so intensely colored in your photos. Love the talus slopes anchoring the buttes and the foreground effect draws my eyes to the main subject nicely.

I love shooting anything sandstone, the light hitting it is every changing, erosion gives a wonderful photo op. Thanks for the kind words.

What an interesting and unusual shot (apart from the geology!)... what did you use for this? The rocks look like a sic-fi setting. Great shot!

In the campground that we stay in there, the dirt is this red and our blue carpets start turning pinkish quite quickly. Thanks so much for the kind words, much appreciated.

I didn't do a whole lot to the photo, edited in Picasa but I did use tone mapping on another program and I think that changed the looks of the formations.

Fine composition but why it lacks sharpness? did you go medieval with PP ?
