Lens: Pentax DA*300 f/4 + Tamron Pz-AF 1.4x TC Camera: K-5 IIs Photo Location: Houston, TX Shutter Speed: 1/4000s Aperture: F5.6

The famous Blue Angels from the Wings over Houston airshow this past weekend. This was a new challenge for me, as I'd never shot anything that moves so fast. I slapped the 1.4x TC on the DA*300, cranked the shutter speed to 1/4000+ (because 1/2500 wasn't enough earlier in the show), and rapid fired away in burst mode. After processing to remove the noise (high ISO to hit those shutter speeds at effective f/5.6--so don't pixel peep ) and clean up the contrast, I am rather pleased with the results!

Man -- great shots. Especially the last one, get a real sense of speed from it.

The most important technique when shooting this sort of thing is luck.

I was referring to pilots in that post
But your sense of visual rythm is noteworthy. Thanks! I wish luck to you!
