Macro Abstracts
Posted By: shooz, 11-05-2014, 12:22 AM

Creating macro abstracts can be a lot of fun too.

Anyone else ever try them, or care to join in?

I agree with your premise based on experience I really like your example in that, while we can identify what it is generally, it is a very much an impression due to the combination of magnification and soft focus. I love the color and shapes, and mostly how it clearly flows from left to right in the frame.

Still, I'd like to see how you do it, as well as more examples.

Nice examples so far....
I love doing these, I like to use a combination of things in focus(very little usually), some things out of focus and sometimes nothing in focus, creating a more interesting photo, a feast of color and shapes. These are done with either a Vivitar 105 macro, or way up close with a CZ 25 2.8 which can focus as close as 2 inches.

Gotta love that last one. Gorgeous pastels.

Here's one in a more neutral color motif.

That was my D FA 100@2.8.

A crop, of course, shot with my old K200.
